MEET MEG

_DSC1425-2-2-2-YOU SHRINE MCB - BLIKMO (1).JPG

HELLO!

Over the past 17 years Megan has implemented her background training in Events Management into her self employed social arts practice, to deliver large-scale social engagement commissions; bespoke installations, audio works & performances co-created with communities. This includes turning a swimming pool into a pool table, sliding into the past on a custom created helter skelter, searching for a needle of hope inside a haystack & creating ceremonies that celebrate life in present day. These artworks have been commissioned/funded by organisations including The National Trust, English Heritage, Historic England, Arts Council England & The Royal Shakespeare Co. In addition Megan has worked on social research projects and has provided consultation on social arts practices for The Universities of Bristol & Bath.

This is amazing. We're all doing it in the studio. You've brightened up our whole event. You're fantastic!

Meg is Co-Director & Co-Founder of LIGHTS! LIGHTS! LIGHTS! CIC (alongside fellow artist & neighbour Claudia Collins). Established to provide light art and connectivity during the darker days. The company’s acclaimed premier production NOEL WEST (2023) received 5 stars & was a sell out Christmas show for Tobacco Factory Theatres. It was co-created with our neighbours to showcase stories behind the working class traditions of lavish Christmas lights in Knowle West, South Bristol. We are currently exploring how these stories paint a national picture that connect our community to wider Bristol & beyond…

Meg creatively navigates commissions, funded projects & engagement activities with a vibrant, fun and conversational approach that takes silliness very seriously. Alongside this, she contracts & collaborates with a trusted network of artists, ensuring the required insurance, safeguarding, H&S, access policies & contracts are in place for successful delivery. Meg is used to flexing & expanding her collaborative workforce in relation to the projects she is working on.
